Fisher Price began nearly 85 years ago in 1930.  Since then, their toys have become staple gifts for parents to give to their children.  Kids love playing with Fisher Price toys, and parents love their durability.

Fisher Price has several toys that are a great fit for busy, learning toddlers.  Here are some of our favorites:

Little People Lil’ Movers School Bus

Toddlers like things that move, like vehicles, and if they have older siblings, they’ve likely seen them go to school on the bus.  For these reasons alone they may like this toy, but it has a number of other great features.

As the bus moves, it plays “The Wheels on the Bus.”  Each time one of the people is put in a different seat, a different verse plays.  The bus driver also speaks, and the door opens and closes, and the stop sign flips out.

This toy is recommended for ages 1-5 years old.

Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Home

My daughters had one of these toys, and it kept them occupied for at least 15 to 20 minutes every day.  Children can go through the door, listen to one of 75 sing-along songs, check the mail, and flip on or off the lights, to name just a few features.

Even better, this toy grows with your child.  There is a switch to turn to one of three settings depending on your child’s age and maturity level.  Level one is for 6 to 11 months old; level two is for 12+ months; and level three is for 18+ months old.

This toy helps teach your toddler learn numbers, shapes, letters, greetings, and weather.

This toy is advertised for ages 6 to 36 months, but my children played with it well beyond that age.

Grow with Me Kitchen

No matter if you have a boy or girl, your child will love playing with the toy kitchen.  Toddlers love to imitate parents, and they likely see their parents cooking a lot.  Your toddler will love cooking and serving you food and drinks.

The doors open on the oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher.  Even better, the toy can be adjusted to a taller height for your preschoolers to use.

This toy is recommended for ages 18 months to 5 years old.

Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Mower

This is yet another toy that plays to young children’s desires to imitate what their parents are doing.  Your toddler could mow alongside you with his own mower, but he can also use it in the house for fun and learning.  Like the Learn and Laughter Smart Stages Home, this toy has three different levels.  Level one is for 12+ months; level two is for 18+ months; and level three is for 24+ months.

Children will learn numbers and opposites when using this toy.  They’ll also be entertained by 30 sing-along songs and the mower’s light up face.

As an added bonus, younger children can use this as they learn to walk.  My son had a toy like this that he used in the early stages of walking for additional support.

This toy is recommended for ages 12 to 36 months.
